Comments on TVIRD’s first copper shipment from some of the company’s important stakeholders

The first copper concentrate shipment of TVI Resource Development Philippines, Inc. (TVIRD) was greeted with elation by the company’s critical stakeholders – from national and local government officials to local businessmen, employees, village residents and even lay organization leaders of the Roman Catholic Church. TVIRD sought their views and comments on this major milestone (click related story here) in the company’s history.

This is certainly a good development for the Philippine mining industry, and signals the continuing progress of our revitalization program for the mining sector despite the global financial crisis.

This should boost our prospects for copper production, and consequently in generating income for the government for the benefit of the Filipino people especially the host communities. With this positive development for TVIRD, we are also looking forward that the company would also continue achieving social development milestones for its host localities and communities, especially for our indigenous brothers and sisters in the area.

With the economic crisis that the country is facing, we must give our all-out support to the efforts of our investors as the national government has said the worst is yet to come. I am happy that TVIRD has made its first shipment. This economic activity will surely help alleviate and revive our ailing economy. Its benefits will no doubt redound to my constituents, especially the poor who benefit from the company’s social development projects.

The shipment will surely boost business in this town, and of course taxes that mean additional income for our town.

I appreciate the efforts of TVIRD in protecting Siocon’s environment even as the company continues to mine in Canatuan. The first copper concentrate shipment will open the gate for more social development projects for the company’s host and impact communities; for the booming of Siocon’s business, including our lone port; and for continued assistance in curbing the unemployment problem in our municipality.

TVIRD’s first copper concentrate shipment is indeed a welcome development! Our people are also happy because the company will be able to continue the basic social services it has planned for us.

With the first shipment, I am sure that TVIRD will be able to continue implementing its community development projects that were cut short after the completion of its gold and silver operations. Now that it has begun operating its copper and zinc project and made its first shipment, there is no more hindrance to continue its development plans for Siocon. Congratulations TVIRD! We made it!

I support TVIRD’s operations all the way. Its first shipment indicates the company’s unhampered operations and signals more development for the company and its host communities in the years to come.

Since TVIRD will now have income from the sale of copper concentrates, it is now better capable of continuing its social development projects for my fellow Subanons in Canatuan.

This is good news indeed! Now Management may have the capacity to increase our salaries.

I have 15 laborers in my Arrastre that has been serving the Sta. Maria port for 13 years. The scheduled shipment means additional income for our workers.

The National Food Authority and Fortune Shipping which haul cargoes like cement and beverages are the only firms that we have been serving in Sta. Maria for many years. TVIRD copper concentrate shipments will only mean additional jobs and income for us.

It was the first time for us to see such a big sea vessel in Sta. Maria Port. My neighbors who work on a seasonal basis at the port will have additional workload because they are part of the stevedoring company that will assist in the hauling of concentrates. More jobs for our community are always a happy news.
